A company that specialises in the production of PVC tiles has been successfully using pinch valves from the VF series from AKO Armaturen for more than 15 years. The DN 100 valves are used to control the flow of the base materials.
Amongst other things, powder-based polyvinyl chloride, which is processed with various different additives into laminate film, is required to produce PVC tiles. In the next stage, five layers of the finished laminate film is then stuck together to form a stable surface and then stored on rollers. During the final processing stage, the laminate film is cut into squares and sold on the market as PVC floor tiles.
The company has used pinch valves from AKO Armaturen for more than 15 years. They were already installed by the constructor of the plant and have since been an integral part of the production processes.
The internal sleeve made out of natural rubber with special anti-abrasive properties only needs to be replaced due to wear every three years at this plant (despite 24-hour operation). The other valve components can be reused – it is thus not necessary to completely replace the valve.
