Agricultural technology & farming
Agricultural technology is an indispensable part of modern farming. Whether stationary or mobile machinery, it is increasingly difficult for farmers to achieve the expected economic yields and comply with ever changing regulations without the aid of modern technology and digital assistance systems. The use of reliable transport systems controlled by valves is a key component of this process.
When it comes to optimising processes and increasing yield while at the same time reducing costs, agricultural technology is playing an increasingly important role in modern agricultural operations.
This is achieved, for example, in the area of fertiliser and seed spreading machines using comprehensive digital solutions – so-called precision farming. The optimal amount of fertiliser and seed for every section of the field is calculated and delivered using satellite-based mapping systems and precisely controlled valves to prevent the overfertilisation of the soil and the resulting impact on the end product.
From agricultural machinery through to silo systems – a variety of applications for pinch valves
Pinch valves have a diverse range of application in modern farming. They are primarily used for dosing and control applications e.g. in field sprayers where they are used to reliably control or stop the flow of fertiliser.
Another field of application are storage and dosing systems for farming. The pinch valves are also used to control the flow of the product in this case – from filling and emptying of silo systems or regulating the amounts in stationary storage & dosing systems for fertilisers through to filling systems for sacks, big packs or barrels.
Depending on the field of application, pinch valves from AKO Armaturen can also be assembled from materials approved for contact with food and can thus be used in this area without any concern and in compliance with the regulations.
