AKO air operated Pinch Valves with Flange Connection - VF Series
The air operated pinch valves of the VF series are available in the nominal diameters of DN040 to DN250.
They are designed with a flange connection complying with DIN EN 1092 (PN10/16) as standard. On request, the air operated pinch valves of the VF series can be made with a flange connection complying with ANSI B 16.5- 150lbs, if required.

Structure of VF series:
The structure of the VF series air operated pinch valves encompasses the sleeve - the essential part of every pinch valve - a body and two flanges. The pinch valve sleeve is positioned in the centre of the VF series air operated pinch valve's body; both of its ends are pressed in by the flanges, thus forming a compact unit.
Function of AKO Pinch Valve VF series:
The VF series air operated pinch valve is closed by differential pressure of 2-3 bar being fed via the medium/operating pressure (depending on the elastomer grade) into the pinch valve body. As soon as the pressure supply is interrupted and the pinch valve body bled, the pinch valve sleeve opens again completely because of its enormous rebound resilience. Only the sleeve and the two flanges are in the product flow (contact with the operating medium) of the VF series AKO air operated pinch valve.
Materials of AKO air operated Pinch Valves VF series:
A selection of 12 different elastomer grades for the sleeve (natural rubber, food quality rubber, high temperature rubber, neoprene, EPDM, EPDM food quality, viton, silicone, nitrile, nitrile food quality, butyl and Hypalon) ensures that the VF series air operated pinch valves have a very wide and practically unrestricted field of application.
Furthermore, a selection of four different flange types supports the diverse range of application of the VF series air operated pinch valves. The following flange designs are available as standard for the VF series air operated pinch valves:
- A powder-coated aluminium flange,
- An aluminium flange with steel bushing that comes into contact with the product, powder-coated for more abrasive applications
- An aluminium flange with stainless steel bushing that comes into contact with the product, used for foodstuff applications or very aggressive media
- An aluminium flange with flanged sleeve
The flanged sleeve covers the entire part of the flange that comes into contact with the product.This means that only an elastomer is placed in the product flow. Furthermore, an internal thread connection is offered for the nominal diameters DN040-DN100 as an alternative to the flange connection. A steel or stainless steel flange is available for the nominal diameter DN250.
The body of the VF series air operated pinch valves consists of powder-coated, cast aluminium. A powder-coated, steel body is available for the nominal diameter DN250.
