AKO air operated Pinch Valves with Internal Thread Connection - VM Series

The pneumatic pinch valves of the VM series are available in the nominal diameters of DN010 to DN50.

They are designed with an internal thread connection conforming with DIN ISO 228 and alternatively NPT as standard. On request, the VM series pneumatic pinch valves can also be offered with alternative individually customised connections.

Structure of VM series:

The structure of the VM series air operated pinch valves encompasses the sleeve - the essential part of every pinch valve - a body, two sockets and two retaining rings. The pinch valve sleeve is positioned in the centre of the VM series air operated pinch valve's body; both of its ends are pressed in by the sockets, which are screwed to the body over the two retaining rings, thus forming a compact unit.

Function of AKO Pinch Valve VM series:

The VM series air operated pinch valve is closed by differential pressure of 2-3 bar being fed via the medium/operating pressure (depending on the elastomer grade) into the pinch valve body. As soon as the pressure supply is interrupted and the pinch valve body bled, the pinch valve sleeve opens again completely because of its enormous rebound resilience.

Only the sleeve and the two sockets are in the product flow (contact with the operating medium) of the VM series air operated pinch valve.

Materials of AKO air operated Pinch Valves VM series:

A selection of 12 different elastomer grades for the sleeve (natural rubber, food quality rubber, high temperature rubber, neoprene, EPDM, EPDM food quality, viton, silicone, nitrile, nitrile food quality, butyl and Hypalon) ensures that the VM series air operated pinch valves have a very wide and practically unrestricted field of application.

Furthermore, a selection of three different socket materials supports the diverse application of the VM series air operated pinch valves. The following are offered as standard:

  • POM natural (white), for foodstuffs and applications in the internal range
  • PVC, suitable for acids or weak alkaline solutions
  • Stainless steel model AISI 1.4404, suitable for using the VM series air operated pinch valve in the foodstuffs sector, outside and in a special design for use in areas at risk of explosions (EX).

The body material is available in PVC, aluminium or stainless steel.

Maximal operating pressures Pinch Valves VM series:

DN010-DN050: 6 bar
